Dear Diary,

For my 8th birthday I had a pool party. Isn't that so cool, you can swim at Christmas here? Sooo weird. It is Summer holidays!

I thought it was awesome being able to open presents 3 days in a row - Saturday (my party), Sunday (my birthday), and Monday (Xmas Day). Everyone says it must be a bummer having a birthday at Xmas, and you get gypped over presents, but I've never found that - it's great! My favourite present was my Tamagotchi.

I am going off the idea of owning a horse. It's like, hard work, and riding is really only fun when my friends are doing it with me, or I'm going to a friend's house. Having a horse is not as much like having a car as I thought. And nothing like having a Tamagotchi (there's no pause button for a start). Dad wanted to go riding with me, him on his eGo, me on Willow, but I said no thanks. I don't think I even know why that would not count, but it wouldn't. Mum wanted to get a horse so we could ride together, but then she found out that I think just riding around with no destination in mind is a stupid idea. She thinks the reason for riding is to be with your horse, can you imagine? Duh, Mum! It's to be with your friends of course. Anyone who's watched Saddle Club knows that. I guess I didn't really realise that before we bought Willow. I suppose Mum and Dad might not be too happy about this but they are being very good about it. Maybe they will get me a car instead.
