Dear diary,
Dad spent a good chunk of Boxing Day reassembling the Blue Typhoon. Then
we rode it around a bit, then it rained for a couple of days.
My frind Cole came over and I showed him how I drive in between showers.
The next day it was fine and we figured we would take it to visit Emma and Sarah,
but
the starter motor would not start.
Dad and I pulled it out. It is a permanent-magnet motor, but not so carefully built
like most of these Chinese go-karts. A contact on the commutator had
gone open-circuit... that is when electricity does not get through to it.
Anyway, we pulled it off and put it on twice before we figured out to beat
it up with a hammer. Now it seems to be working just fine!
I don't think I want to be a mechanic, I can cross that off the
list already by 10.16.
