Here you will get the best Mole ever. Pepe's is situated at 2000 Sebastopol Rd., South off 12 just to the West of 101. It is a classic diner-shaped sweatshop, reeking of Mexican atmosphere, with three short-order cooks churning out food, mostly take-out, as fast as they can, and it's all great.
Two people will get fed to the gunwales for $10. Tipping these guys is a pleasure, they deserve it. All the usual Mexican fare is available, but I skipped the lot and went straight to the Chicken Mole. It is served with loads of beans, rice, salad, and one spectacular chilli-chocolate sauce. Kay had quesadilla, which was fine, but then one quesadilla is quite like another. There was a wide choice, as Mexican food goes, tacos, enchiladas, the usual. Virginia tells us they do a great take-out lunch, too.
I would give this restaurant 5 out of 10, on an overall basis, but 10/10 if you take value into account!
