Proportional-Integral-Differential Train Controller II

The controller at right is the prototype of the model PID684 Train Control, the top model in the second generation of digital controllers I have designed. The User Manual gives complete details of its capabilities and use.

The PCB is more complicated than the first generation, because it has automatic reversing, current and power supply sensing, an analog meter for readout of various functions such as engine RPM and peak axle torque, operation over a wider supply range, and the controller has provision for remote control via RS232 serial link.
