Dear Diary,

"Fish, Weed, and Moon", from the artist's Biro period, circa 8.78 years old.

Bequeathed to the gallery by an anonymous American collector.
Although purchased for a sum much smaller than that paid by the MOMA for the more famous "Orange Golden Gate Bridge", this work displays the same early attention to detail, visible in the rippled moon intended to convey that the view is from under water.

Bequeathed to the gallery by the artist's brother Sir Edwin Scott.
This is the original of the sketch identified by Chapman and Parrish in the first edition of their textbook as encapsulating the essence of gender. Thought lost for many years, it was found in a long-forgotten safety-deposit box in response to its mention in the late donor's will.
