Garage Door Opener

One of the first things we had to do in Vallejo Street was install electric garage door openers. Likewise in Mystery Creek Road.

In the Antipodes, garage doors are metallic roll affairs, as different from the articulated sections in tracks style that is prevalent in the US. This means that the electric openers are small geared affairs rather than things with long chain drives.

This is a picture of the unit installed on the second garage. You can see the limit switches attached to the small nylon cogwheels. The main drive reaches inside the rolled up door.

Thanks to Bruce for welding up the custom bracket that holds the opener and door to the part of the wall equipped to hold the weight!
