"Edwina Jan Scott's Archives"

While unpacking boxes of things taken from Wentworth Falls, a box of slides was discovered. Containing in the order of 100 photographic slides, it represents a large volume of material in comparison to what has been uncovered so far. The films show signs of mechanical damage (dust and scratches, cardboard housing falling away as the glue fails), but the emulsion is sound, and the colours not too faded. The image at left must have been taken late in 1958, and shows Jonathan with a statue of Peter Pan, probably in Hyde Park, London.

Four more pictures are offered atthis time; the first shows Jonathan with his father, Perris Scott, possibly at a holiday house called "White Caps", on the Gold Coast, probably taken in the Summer of 1959. Photographs of Perris are rare!

The next shows Jonathan watering the garden in their home in Brisbane. The classic house design (wooden, raised on stilts, to allow air to pass underneath) is visible.

The third image shows Jan Scott holding Jonathan on board the cruise ship that brought them ou to Australia. Jonathan turned three years old on the voyage, and must therefore be about 3 in this photograph.

The last image is of Jonathan in a deck chair, but the location is unknown. The gravel beach surface suggests an English resort, but Jonathan looks older than three. Since he resided exclusively in Australia from the age of three and a bit to about 20, it is a puzzle.
