Ralph, the previous owner, had two (among many) crosses to bear,
namely a wallpaper fetishist for a wife, and absolutely no
taste. The wife covered the lounge-dining room with
wallpaper that was essentially black, with so-called floral (well
plant-like anyway)
scribblings on it. Not only was this Gothically gloomy,
but also it utterly prevented the hanging of any pictures.
(We presume they did not have any.)
Here Denis and kent are hard at work stripping the stuff.
To add to the humour, we found that underneath the walls had
been pained in two-tone green....
Kay removing the last vestige of the wretched stuff....
Next wash with water, some patching (thanks Denis), and
a coat of nice solid primer.
Looking good, all systems go....
The finished product is truly wonderful to behold.
And with art on the walls, she is a little beauty!
